Speculation over sale of Jimmy Choo
Speculation is growing over the future of global footwear brand Jimmy Choo, following reports of a possible sale involving a deal worth
GBP 500 million (A$870 million).Recent media reports stated the brand had been seeking advice from investment banks over options for the business, and was considering appointing an adviser to carry out a strategic review by the end of UK summer.
Jimmy Choo's owners include president and UK socialite Tamara Mellon, who founded it in 1996, having discovered the hand-made, high end shoes made by a certain Malaysian cobbler whose name the brand would eventually adopt. Mellon still owns almost a fifth of the business.
The Jimmy Choo brand now operates 100 outlets in 32 countries and has branched into accessories including handbags and eyewear. Its sale, if it eventuates, would mark the next of numerous ownership changes for the Jimmy Choo brand, which was bought in 2001 by private equity firm Phoenix, which sold it three years later to fellow buyout firm Lion Capital. In early 2007, Mellon and the rest of the management team bought it from Lion with the backing of TowerBrook Capital Partners in a deal which valued the business at GBP 185 million ($A321.57 million).
Jimmy Choo operates 100 shops in 32 countries, including Australia. If you havent already read it, i suggest you read 'The Towering World of Jimmy Choo'.

Shoes that double as weapons

In Cinderella’s world, there wasn’t much to worry about when going to parties at night— except having your carriage turn into a pumpkin. Things are a little different for women these days, especially those of us living in big cities. Say hello to the Electric Cinderella, the first glass slipper with a stun gun in the heel.
The Electric Cinderella was inspired years ago by Interactive Design Institute student, Simona Brusa Pasque, a woman who wanted to have the freedom to be sexy without fear. The heel has 100,000 volts of stun gun power that can be activated by a control on the matching necklace. The shoe is designed for one-time use, so make sure to save it just in case your date isn’t Prince Charming. — LIBBY HAYDEL
Makeovers, Manicures and Martinis
I came across this event through a friend of mine on Twitter, the fabulous Miss Money Penny. I love the concept and wanted to share it with you.
As part of Melbourne Spring Fashion week, Makeovers, Manicures and Martinis and Miss Money Penny have teamed up to create a luxury shopping event that combines mini pampering treatments with a personal styling session and an elegant showing of hand-picked pre owned designer items.
Forget getting all hot and bothered wading through Op shops, markets and Ebay to get a great designer find. As you sip on a glass of bubbles, Miss Money Penny will put together a salon style showing of top end pre loved designer pieces whilst the team from Makeovers, Manicures and Martinis treat you to a manicure, massage and make-up consultation. You’ll also receive a styling consultation courtesy of Bronwyn Fraser from the Style Establishment.
This is the smartest, fastest and most relaxing way to shop for items that are Brand New With Tags (BNWT), Just Slipped On or Vintage Designer fashion; for a fraction of the retail price. Like what you see? Then you can purchase items after the show. Even if you don’t find something you’d like to buy you’ll leave refreshed and revived from your pampering treatments and full of ideas for new ways to wear items already in your wardrobe.
Admission is $70 and includes:
· A glass of bubbles and canapés on arrival.
· A salon style showing of key pieces from the Miss Money Penny range
· A Hit the town Makeover - A make up consultation using mineral cosmetics that are vegan certified.

Gorgeous Sergio Rossi heels
Set your eyes on this sparkling Sergio Rossi creation. The strappy caged upper hints at the shape of a bow. Certainly these would be an amazing present for any shoe-lover to receive – no gift wrap required. With that earthy bronze tone and glamorous shine, they are perfect for both summer and fall evenings in either dressy skirts or classic denim.
Plus, crystal embellishments have been steadily increasing in popularity with shoe designers throughout the year. As someone who has become exhausted with this years ’studs, studs, and even more studs’ trend for shoes, sandals, and boots – crystals are a refreshing way to give a shoe added depth and dimension without resorting the the now-ubiquitous studs. And, if you find just one crystal style shoe or sandal that you adore, it will never go out of fashion – so long as there are romantic evenings with our hubbies or hotties to be had.
And, of course, there’s that show-stopping, corkscrew-stiletto heel. Both men and women are likely to find themselves suffering from sudden cases of whiplash after you stroll by.
Tiara up or down?

The Fake Debate
As a working princess, I know about the pressures to look good in an office. Women are more competitive and judgemental then men and notice things like chipped nail polish, last seasons shoes or a really bad hair day. (men wouldn’t notice unless it was wrapped in boobs). We also notice fakes. Fake handbag, fake watch, sunglasses, scarf… seriously what secretary can afford a real Hermes Birkin bag – they cant!
HIgh heel hair art
I loved this cute updo inspired by heels, which is the only reason i have posted it....
Instead of wearing your passion on your sleeve, why not wear it on your head? Little extreme i know.

Chocolate so divine....

I promise you, apart from shoes it is the next best thing to godliness!
Finger Boned Stiletto Heels
FInger Boned Stiletto Heels
Now these are some well spined heels. D Squared finger bone stilettos are a more elegant interpretation of the skeletal theme. Slender’ metallic-stiletto heels - in your choice of a toned-down, silver-heeled, ankle bootie or and evening sandal bedecked with blood-red rhinestones and sparkly gold heel.
Very costumy and perfect for Halloween they certainly make a statement
These shoes deliver drama but priced at about $900US i think i'll stick to some less dramatic and less creepy
Diamond shoes

We think these shoes are amazing!! Jewellery company House of Borgezie has created a pair of ladies shoes set with more than 2,000 diamonds totaling 30 carats.
The Eternal Diamond stilettos are hand crafted from solid gold and adorned with 2,200 diamonds set in the straps and around the edge of the shoe and have a price of $155,000. (if only we could stretch the budget that far)
However, the luxury shoes do come with a 1,000 year guarantee which means you can pass them from generation to generation. Although the list of clients for the shoes under wraps, they are thought to include celebrities associated with football, music and modeling.
The shoes have been created by British jewellery designer Christopher Michael Shellis, who said he spent three years working on the sparkling footwear.
‘To bring the Eternal Diamond Stilletto to life, I quite literally had to reinvent the fundamental principle of classical stiletto construction.” Shellis told twirlit.com.
“The result is not so much a shoe, but rather a fine piece of jewellery that can be miraculously yet practically worn as the ultimate feminine adornment.”
What do you think my fellow shoe lovers?
